Our Carabao Mangoes — Grown in Calauan, Laguna

Updated June 20265 min read

At Hannah's Farm, our mangoes have one origin story: a family plot in Calauan, Laguna, tended by Imelda and Manny Abelardo through every season. We grow the the Carabao mango — the variety Filipinos have called the sweetest mango in the world — and we harvest each fruit only when it is ready, not a day before. If you are looking to buy mangoes in the Philippines that come straight from a working farm rather than a warehouse, this is the page for you.

A Working Farm in the Heart of Laguna

Calauan sits in the agricultural lowlands of Laguna province, where the soil is deep and the dry season runs long enough to concentrate sugar in every mango. Our trees are not grown under certification — we are a family farm, not a marketing label — but we do not use inputs we would not want on our own table. The trees are managed by hand, pruned each year after harvest, and left to fruit on their own schedule. What you taste is the land, the rain, and the patience of the people who tend it.

Picked at the Peak of the Season

Carabao mangoes in Laguna reach their best between March and May, when the hot dry months have done their work. We pick fruit at full maturity, when the skin turns the pale yellow-green that marks a mango ready to ripen off the tree in a day or two. Fruit picked at this stage arrives at your table at its sweetest — never gassed early, never rushed. We sell fresh mangoes in small orders for households and in larger bulk lots for buyers who need volume.

Nothing from Our Trees Goes to Waste

A harvest always produces more fruit than fresh sales can absorb, so we process the surplus ourselves. Every value-added product on the farm starts with the same mangoes that would have gone to your table. Some are sliced and dried low and slow into chewy dried mango strips. Others become mango fruit leather, mango jam, mango chutney, or mango powder for cooking and baking. We even press and cold-process the starchy mango seed kernels into mango seed butter, a rich emollient used in natural skincare. Nothing is thrown away.

Delivery to Laguna and Metro Manila

We deliver fresh and processed mango orders to addresses across Laguna province and to Metro Manila, usually within two to three days of harvest. For wholesale buyers — grocers, market stalls, restaurants, or food processors — we can arrange standing orders during peak season. Contact us through the shop our mangoes page to discuss volumes and scheduling before the season opens.

Come Visit During Harvest Season

Hannah's Farm is an open place. We hold small harvest events at the farm in Calauan where guests can walk the property, see the trees, and bring home fruit the same day it was picked. If you would like to tie a mango visit to a wider farm day — our avocados, jackfruit, and banana groves are on the same land — check the events calendar for upcoming dates. There is no better way to understand where your food comes from than to stand under the tree it fell from.

Frequently asked questions

How do I buy fresh Carabao mangoes from Hannah's Farm?

You can place an order directly through our shop page. We take orders during peak season (March to May) and deliver to Laguna addresses and Metro Manila within a few days of harvest. For bulk or wholesale quantities, reach out to us before the season so we can plan your order alongside the rest of the harvest.

Are your mangoes organic?

We grow our mangoes naturally — no inputs we would not want on our own food — but we are not certified organic. Certification is a process that small family farms often cannot afford, and we would rather be honest about that than claim a label we have not formally earned. What we can say is that our trees are on land we live on and care for ourselves.

What is mango seed butter and how is it used?

Mango seed butter is pressed from the starchy kernel inside the mango pit. The kernel is cleaned, dried, and cold-processed into a solid fat that melts at skin temperature, making it a gentle moisturiser for dry skin, hair, and lips. It is one of the ways we make sure nothing from our harvest goes to waste — a part of the fruit that most people discard becomes a useful skincare ingredient.

Can I visit the farm during mango season?

Yes. We open the farm to visitors during harvest season and occasionally hold small events where guests can walk the property, see the Carabao mango trees, and bring home freshly picked fruit. The farm is in Calauan, Laguna, about two hours from Metro Manila. Check our events calendar for upcoming dates, or message us directly if you would like to arrange a visit outside a scheduled event.
